About
Passionate Artist,
Consummate Professional
S. Sean Six musical journey began at nine with group lessons at Reifsnyder’s Music Shop in Ottumwa, Iowa, followed by private study in blues and rock with local guitarist Tony Blew. In Fort Smith, Arkansas, guitarist Gary Hutchison pushed him to master the instrument fully — and introduced him to the late Paul Mendy, whose classical guitar mentorship changed everything.
Through Paul, he pursued undergraduate studies in Guitar Performance at the University of Colorado at Boulder under Charles Wolzien, earning the prestigious Ted and Nancy Anderson Music Award. Graduate work followed at the University of Denver under Ricardo Iznaola, with masterclasses alongside Roland Dyens, Benjamin Verdery, and Jonathan Leathwood, among others.
A former contract musician for Denver’s KVOD and featured performer on the CU Artist Series, his work has aired on Colorado Public Radio and Television. He now teaches privately and serves as a music professor across Southeastern Iowa. His second album, Fire, is coming soon.
